3 Ring Circle Tournament Theme

This was a really great theme that had simple inexpensive decorations but wowed the members and guests at a recent event. Crepe paper streamers, balloons, and silly cardboard clowns set the mood when you entered the clubhouse. One hole had three rings painted on the fairway with a three cardboard clowns in the middle of each ring. Instead of longest drive the purpose was to hit a drive into one of the 3 circles and try to get closest to the clown. Circles were at different lengths from the tee so everyone has a chance to win. Pulling up to the "3 Ring Circus" hole made everyone smile! Another idea is to place cardboard clowns in several of the hardest sand traps and get a free lift! Members and guests got in the sprit by wearing "boingy eyeball glasses," clown ties, and silly hair. Centerpieces were red & white striped boxes of popcorn and candy with balloons tied to the box. Easy snacks while waiting for lunch! Hey Tennis Players!  You can use this idea as a theme for your next Tennis Member/Guest Luncheon.

Many people use the seat covers for their golf carts in the winter to keep their "buns" warm.  These seat covers also work great in the hot weather!  No sticking to hot plastic seats when the humidity is over 90!  If you don't have a fitted seat cover a beach towel works just as well.  Just lift the front of the seat and tuck the towel under. This keeps the towel from sliding every time you get out. Beach towels also work great when it is raining.  Helps keep the seat drier.

TENNIS FAVOR What to do with all those old tennis balls? Simply cut out the top of the tennis ball, insert some type of filler-Easter basket grass or colorful tissue paper. Put in candies, gum, chapstick, coupon from local shop or proshop whatever little favors you have. Wrap with clear plastic so tennis ball stays upright. Tie up with a ribbon, add a name tag, and use as a favor or placecard.

Golf or Tennis Tournament Rained Out? Let the Awards Begin!

Tennis or golf outing rained out?  What to do? The food is prepared so lunch/dinner is still on.  Have the committee put everyone's name in a hat.  Proceed to read the usual awards-Low Gross, 1st Place Division A for tennis. Then pull a name from the hat ..."The winner for this year is..."  Everyone loves it.  People cheer and clap!  Players who seldom win go home with a prize. There are no duplicate winners because once a name is drawn that name is no longer available to be picked again.

Want an easy way to get rid of annoying flying critters without using sprays or stinky candles?  You know those  "no see ums," mosquitoes, or any other pesky gnat that buzzes around while you are trying to enjoy your cocktails on the deck.  Plug in a fan.  The tall rotating fans work best but a smaller fan on a table also works.  The fan acts as a breeze and keeps the bugs away!  Great idea!
